BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference announced its 2021 Spring Academic Awards. Union University put 102 student-athletes on the GSC Honor Roll, while six student-athletes from Union earned GSC All-Academic Team honors. The GSC Honor Roll includes all student-athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA, while the all-academic team selections are voted on and must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 GPA or higher and have significant athletic and academic contributions. 

This spring included three Union fall sports (men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball) that moved seasons to the spring along with baseball, softball, men's golf, and women's golf due to COVID restrictions. 

Six Union student-athletes were named GSC All-Academic including Trey Tidwell (men's golf), Nicole Taylor (women's golf), Jacob Greene (men's soccer), Gavin Scott (men's soccer), William Valencia (men's soccer), and Meghan Delaney (volleyball). This marks the third time for Delaney to earn GSC All-Academic honors. 

Baseball led the way with 25 on the honor roll including Walker Adkisson, Andrey Arnett, Owen Bartholomew, Josh Bozoian, Cooper Bullough, Dawson Conder, Stuart Edge, Trey Frierson, Joe Gee, Brandon Maxwell, Sam McMillin, Ryan Middleton, Britt Netterville, Tanner Parmely, John Plattner, Sam Poindexter, A'Darius Pugh, Slater Schield, Parker Shreve, Ben Smith, Dacoda Stone, John Wheeler, Luke Williamson, Spencer Woods, and Austin Zeitler.

Softball put 14 players on the honor roll including Idalia Alarcon, Leah Beasley, Madisen Blackwell, Nicole Goggin, Lily Johnson, Taylor Manley, Samantha McDaniel, Gabby Morris, Ashten Petty, Kristen Pickens, Sarah Smith, Alyssa Ward, Grace White, and Tori York. 

Men's golf placed nine players on the honor roll including Garrett McCraw, Ben Muha, Reagan Oliver, Kip Patterson, Anders Rider, Blake Templeton, Cal Templeton, Trey Tidwell, and Ted Williams. 

Women's golf had seven players make the honor roll including Aubrie Cagle, Emma Korte, Mikaela Kossina, Kallie Robertson, Delaney Sain, Nicole Taylor, and Josie Wallace.

Men's soccer places 13 on the honor roll including Alpay Altuntas, Stan De Vries, Justin Fisher, Jacob Greene, Billy Grogan, Jorge Gutierrez, David Hurtado, James Jackson, Parker Miller, Botond Nemeth, Hayden Phillips, Gavin Scott, and William Valencia. 

Women' soccer put 21 on the honor roll including Katherine Askins, Yasi Brem, Sam Burket, Makenna David, Cora Eisman, Keilana Hyke, Rylee Iorio, Tiffany Linser Kagaruki, Sylvana Kempka, Cresencia Kerr, Taylor Knight, Claire Maxon, Kaitlyn Moss, Annie Northwood, Matilda Nyberg, Hannah Patterson, Iris Seamster, Victoria Seymour, Holly Trisdale, Anna Venckus, and Jaya Wilson.

Volleyball had 13 make the honor roll including Sarah Adams, Adna Alihodzic, Hannah Blackburn, Lauren Burrell, Emily Grace Calhoon, Meghan Delaney, Hannah Hampel, Ainsley Hartman, Haley Ramsey, Grace Roberts, Sydney Sample, Alyssa Tatsch, and Jordan Vick.
