BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference announced its 2021 Spring Academic Awards. Union University put 102 student-athletes on the GSC Honor Roll, while six student-athletes from Union earned GSC All-Academic Team honors. The GSC Honor Roll includes all student-athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA, while the all-academic team selections are voted on and must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 GPA or higher and have significant athletic and academic contributions.Â
This spring included three Union fall sports (men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball) that moved seasons to the spring along with baseball, softball, men's golf, and women's golf due to COVID restrictions.Â
Six Union student-athletes were named GSC All-Academic including
Trey Tidwell (men's golf),
Nicole Taylor (women's golf),
Jacob Greene (men's soccer),
Gavin Scott (men's soccer),
William Valencia (men's soccer), and
Meghan Delaney (volleyball). This marks the third time for Delaney to earn GSC All-Academic honors.Â
Baseball led the way with 25 on the honor roll including
