Before Union
Kossina prepped at Columbia High School out of Columbia, Ill. where she played four years of golf, basketball, and softball. She played 10 years of club softball, and was a four time conference champion, and two time regional champion. In golf, Kossina was a three time conference champion. Kossina was also most improved, two time MVP, all-state team, all-area team, all-metro team, all conference team in golf. Kossina also received a three sport athlete award for playing three sports all four years of high school. For academics, Kossina received the soaring eagle award for excelling in the classroom and on golf course
