BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference announced the Spring All-Academic Teams and Academic Honor Roll for the spring of 2018. Union University placed two student-athletes on the all-academic teams and 33 on the academic honor roll. McKenna Montgomery from women's golf and Emily Bennett from softball both were voted to the all-academic teams for their respective sports. Â
To be nominated for the all-academic team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore or above, having played one season for the school, and have at least a 3.2 GPA. The all-academic teams are voted on by the SIDs and FARs in the conference. The honor roll is made up of all student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA or higher, regardless of classification.Â
The baseball team put 14 players on the honor roll including

Marty Coursey,
Caleb DeMarigny,
Chase Diggs,
Charlie Ellis,
JD Fuzzell,
Skyler Harrison,
JR Miller,
Zane Phillips,

Twelve softball players made the honor roll including
Emily Bennett,
Haley Barnette,
Parker Davis,
Ashley Graves,
Taylor Griffith,
Taylor Manley,
Molly McKelvy,
Gabby Morris,
Ashten Petty,
Kristen Pickens,
Rosie Red, and
Sarah Smith. Â
The men's golf team put four players in the honor roll including Blake Karnes, Braxton Rider, Jon Sain, and Kyle Souleyrette.Â
Three women's golfers made the honor roll including Ashley McCormick, McKenna Montgomery, and Delaney Sain.Â
