Before Union
Montgomery prepped at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis, Missouri where she played four years of basketball and golf. She also played club basketball for Team Adidas and Blue Star Nationals. She helped lead her golf team to the state title in 2012 and also won a Texas National Championship with her club basketball Team Adidas. She was named second team all-conference as a junior. As a senior, she earned first team all-conference honors and was named team captain. In golf, she was a three time all-state performer and was named MVP in 2014 and 2015. Montgomery was named the Female Athlete of the year in 2016 at her high school and earned a St. Louis High School Sports Athlete of the Week once. Her basketball career including over 1,000 points. She posted a career high of 36 points in a game, while averaging 13.8 points, five rebounds and shooting 47 percent from 3-point range as a senior. As a junior, she averaged 13.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. She holds the golf record at her high school for lowest 18 hole score (71) and posted first place finishes in district and sectionals, while finishing third at state. She won the state golf medalist three times. Off the court, Montgomery was on the President's List all four years, 10 Pillar Award for Sportsmanship and Academics and was a Wendy's High School Heisman Award finalist.
