BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Union University placed 76 student-athletes on the Gulf South Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll for the fall of 2022. This is a record high for Union, passing the previous high mark of 64 student-athletes in 2019. 

Among the honor roll recipients from Union, men's soccer standout Gavin Scott was named to the GSC Men's Soccer All-Academic team for the second straight season. 

A total of 1,187 athletes from all 13 members on the honor roll. This list includes student-athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA and participation versus outside competition in their sport. 

Men's cross country placed 10 on the honor roll including Joshua Whitney, Samuel Barkman, Andrew Bos, Caleb Cook, William Craig, Brandon Jordon, Ryan Keeton, Tristan Kelly, Justine Kipkoech, and Micah Winn.

Women's cross country had 13 honored on the list including Abigail Burgquist Dean, Holly Blackwood, Eilana Gordillo, Cami Haas, Jacie Johnson, Tessa Kaltenbach, MaryKate Leatherwood, Sydnee Meadows, Jackline Ruto, Brinley Schenk, Anna Tankersley, Mary Scott Tritt, and Chloe Veilleux.

Volleyball put 15 players on the honor roll including Adna Alihodzic, Greta Blakemore, Lauren Burrell, Emily Grace Calhoon, Hannah Hampel, Ainsley Hartman, Bailey Hughes, Reese Owens, Haley Ramsey, Grace Roberts, Sydney Sample, Chloe Steen, Gracie Tacker, Alyssa Tatsch, and Jordan Vick. 

Men's soccer placed 17 student-athletes on the honor roll including Jacob Greene, William Valencia, Alpay Altuntas, Joseph Carman, Stan De Vries, Justin Fisher, Billy Grogan, Jorge Gutierrez, Niklas Heuermann, David Hurtado, James Jackson, Manayeh Linton, Davis Mungomba, Botond Nemeth, Noah Penner, Hayden Phillips, and Gavin Scott.

Women's soccer led the way with 21 players named to the honor roll including Anna Lamaj, Bryson Lee, Annika Weidner, Rivers Abshere, Katherine Askins, Sam Burket, Ava Duval, Keilana Hyke, Rylee Iorio, Sylvana Kempka, Taylor Knight, Abigial Langston, Lilly Ludwig, Claire Maxon, Kaitlyn Moss, Matilda Nyberg, Hannah Patterson, Victoria Seymour, Rachel Shane, Anna Swindell, and Holly Trisdale.
