JACKSON, Tenn. - Union University placed 60 student-athletes on the 2024 Gulf South Conference Spring Honor Roll. In addition, Grant Ross (baseball) and Gray Campbell (men's golf) were named to the GSC All-Academic Team. 

The 60 Union student-athletes on the spring honor roll is a new high, breaking last year's total of 48. 

To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.00 or better. To be named to the GSC All-Academic team, nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better their entire academic career at their institution and may not be a freshman or first-term transfer. The student-athlete must also be a significant contributor to the team. 

Ross led Union baseball this season with a .402 batting average. He also posted team highs with 12 home runs, 55 RBI, and 66 hits. Ross added 24 walks, 27 runs, and six doubles. He was top-10 in the GSC in several offensive categories. 

Campbell led Union to a third-place finish in the GSC Golf Championships and a first-ever trip to the NCAA D2 National Championships, posting an 11th-place finish at the regional tournament. He finished fifth at the GSC Championships and was named all-tournament. He was also named first-team All-GSC. 

Union baseball had 26 named to the GSC Honor Roll including Blake Barrett, Bill Beckham, Ryan Aljancic, Matthew Autry, Dyllon Barrett, Hudson Cepparulo, Carson Chavies, Colby Davis, Lane Evans, Ryan Evans, Sam Galbraith, Joseph Hufstedler, Jake Jewell, Brody Mann, Patrick Maxwell, Ethan Orwig, Canyon Pace, Tanner Parmely, Sam Poindexter, Grant Ross, Ben Smith, Cole Smith, Matthew Sureda, Cody Tjomsland, Noah Toney, and Scotty Wyatt. 

The men's golf team boasted 11 honor roll players including Daniel Maybee, Garrett McCraw, Kip Patterson, Will Brown, Gray Campbell, Jackson Hughey, Timothy Pinkston, Trace Robinson, Andrew Westmoreland, Jack-Henry Wise, and JJ Zimmer. 

Sixteen softball players from Union made this honor roll list including Addison Abell, Lainey Baker, Bryleigh Carneal, Mackenzi David, Emily Claire Felder, Kira Finkley, Mallory Hildebrand, Morgan Jennings, Camryn Langley, Courtney Marler, Sophie Mislevy, Macey Neal, Zoey Neal, Brooke Puckett, Sarah Kate Thompson, and Riley Vaughn.

Women's golf put seven players on the list including Cecily Berry, Karlie Alexander, Camille Burnette, Aubrie Cagle, Olivia Carroll, Abigail Fernandez, and McKinnley Korte.
