BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference released the 2024-25 Winter Honor Roll and All-Academic teams. Union University's Olivia Lee and Shylee Morrison were named to the women's basketball all-academic team, while 19 men's and women's basketball players from Union earned honor roll mentions. 

The GSC Winter Honor Roll included 446 total names. All-Academic is a voted-on position, and to be nominated, a player has to be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 minimum GPA and be a significant contributor to the team. The honor roll is for any varsity athlete who played against outside competition and has at least a 3.0 GPA.

In addition to Lee's GSC All-Academic, she was named first-team All-GSC, D2 CCA second-team All-Region, WBCA honorable mentioned All-America, and most recently, to the D2 WBB South Region All-Tournament team. Lee led Union with 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She also shot 46 percent from the field and 37 percent (44-119) from long range. She has started all 35 of Union's games this season. 

Morrison was a key player in Union's GSC Regular Season, GSC Tournament, and NCAA D2 South Region titles this season. The team has earned a spot in the Elite Eight next week for a chance at a national title. Morrison played in all 35 games for Union, averaging 22.1 minutes per game with 7.9 points and 2.4 assists per game. Morrison also has made 43 percent from 3-point range, hitting 44-of-104 shots. 

Women's basketball put 13 players on the honor roll including Alexis Callins, Jazalyn Anousinh, Annie Buisson, Sierra Stedman, Emily Jones, Macey Lee, Olivia Lee, Keisharna Lucas, Kynidi Mason Striverson, Jeremia Montgomery, Shylee Morrison, Nora Saffell, and Courtney Zensen. 

The Union men's team put six players on the honor roll including Nate Jones, Parker Applegate, Judson Bjornstad, Knoah Carver, Brett Jordan, and Kaleim Taylor.
