Box Score 4 HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Union University softball posted a 12-9 win over No. 20 University of Alabama in Huntsville in the final day of the UAH Charger Chillout. Union went 1-3 on the weekend with a 6-3 loss to Harding University, a 7-6 (8 inning) loss to West Alabama Friday. Union lost the final game of the classic, 12-2 to Young Harris Saturday afternoon.
The win for Union over Alabama Huntsville was the fifth in the past seven games versus the Chargers.
Gabby Morris earned the win, tossing a complete game, allowing nine runs on 15 hits with three strikeouts and five walks. Morris, along with
Samantha McDaniel led with three hits each. McDaniel led with four RBI and Morris added three RBI. Morris and
Sarah Smith led with three runs scored.
Union will travel again next weekend, back to Alabama. This time a weekend class in Oxford, Ala. playing Miles, West Alabama, Tuskegee, and a rematch with Young Harris.
