Box Score ROME, Ga. - The Union University Bulldogs lost 2-1 at Shorter University Friday night. The Bulldogs dropped to 1-7-3 and 1-5-2 in Gulf South Conference play. Shorter improved to 1-12 and 1-7 in conference play.
Myron Asamoah scored the Hawk's first goal of the game twelve minutes into the first half. Both teams remained even throughout the rest of the first half.
In the second half, Shorter extended its lead to 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 67th minute. Moments later Union's Gavin Scott cut the lead to 2-1. This was Scott's third goal of the season, tying him for first with AJ Morgado as leading goal scorers for the team.
The score stayed 2-1 for the remainder as Union could not get the equalizer.
Union was led by Gavin Scott with one goal and two shots, and Morgado with two shots. Euan Morton recorded five saves on the night.
