JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's soccer team lost 4-0 to Auburn University Montgomery Friday night at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. Union dropped to 3-6-4 overall and 2-5-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Auburn Montgomery improved to 7-3-3 on the season and 4-2-2 in league play.
AUM scored early with Noa Fernandes, who found the lower right corner of the goal for what proved to be the game-winner. It came in the 20th minute of play and was assisted by Jonas Gunther. AUM added a second goal in the 34th minute, an unassisted goal from Fernandes. AUM led 2-0 at the half.
In the second half, just four minutes into play, Union tried to clear a ball from in front of the net, but the kick ended up in the goal for an own goal. AUM added a fourth and final goal in the 59th minute from Alan De Paula, assisted by Fernandes.
Union's Ashanti Kennedy led with five shots, two on goal.
Tommy Scahill played all 90 minutes in goal, with nine saves.
Union will play its final home game of the 2025 season, October 26 at 3:30 p.m., versus Montevallo.
