JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University Men's Soccer faced off against the Falcons in the last GSC home match of the season. Due to inclement weather, the match was moved to Kirkland Field at Carlock Stadium. Following the match, Bulldog's record sits at 3-6-5 (2-5-2 GSC) and Montevallo's record sits at 5-3-6 (4-1-4 GSC).
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half. Montevallo out shot Union 8-4, but to no prevail. Defensive efforts by
Daniel Dixon and
Rich Rokodi-Phelps aided in keeping this first half scoreless.
Ostian Bowen opened the second half with a left-footed goal perfectly placed around the Falcon's keeper.
Aaron Gomez picked up the assist, launching in a beautiful cross for Bowen to receive.
Falcons responded with a goal of their own, scoring off a corner kick from Sebastian Flores for the equalizer.
At the end of the 90 minutes, the scoreboard read 1-1.
In between the posts,
Patrick Schott collected 6 saves in his 90 minutes in goal.
Union will go on the road next weekend for their last weekend of GSC play in hopes of clinching a spot in the GSC tournament.
