JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University men's soccer faced off against the Flames of Lee University in the first of their final away weekend of the regular season. Following the match, Union's record sits at 3-7-5 (2-6-2 GSC) and Lee rises to 5-7-3 (2-5-3 GSC).
Scoring was opened by the Flames in the 6
th minute off a left-footed cross. This would conclude scoring for the first half.
Second-half scoring was once again sparked by the Flames in the 54th minute, then again in the 61
st minute. Lee had three different goal scorers.
Union was able to put up a point in the 80
th minute thanks to an unassisted goal from
Rich Rokodi-Phelps, his first as a Bulldog.
The Bulldogs were out shot 14-8. Shots on goal were a premium for the Bulldogs, only able to put 4 on frame. All four SOG were from 4 different players, one from
Ostian Bowen, one from
Ashanie Kennedy, one from
Luca Pereira, and one from Rokodi-Phelps.
In goal,
Patrick Schott collected all 90 minutes of play and tallied 3 saves.
Union looks to bounce back this Sunday (11/2) in Nashville against Trevecca Nazarne. The Bulldogs remain on the hunt for a spot in the GSC playoffs.
