SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Union University men's soccer team lost a heart-breaker Friday afternoon in the 2012 Quality Inn Fall Classic hosted by John Brown University. Union lost 3-2 to Oklahoma City University in overtime. Union goes to 1-1-1 on the season. Oklahoma City, now 1-1-2, is receiving votes in the NAIA preseason soccer rankings.
 
Oklahoma City jumped out to a quick lead as they scored in the first minute of play on a goal form Adam Black. The scored stayed at 1-0 throughout the first half. In the second half, Union responded with the first of two goals from Guilherme Reis in the 51^st minute, assisted my Alysson Mohl.
 
However, just two minutes later, Union gave OCU the lead back on an own goal to put the Stars up 2-1. Reis tied the game at 2-2 with his second goal in the 86^th minute to force overtime.  
 
In overtime, it was another own goal from Union off of a deflection that gave OCU the win with just 10 seconds left in the first overtime period.
 
Union outshot Oklahoma City 19-15. Matt Kesler recorded six saves in 100 minutes in goal for Union. OCU goalie Joe Shulbert had five saves, allowing just two goals.
 
Up next for Union will be a match Saturday at 4:00 p.m. versus the host John Brown.
