Union men’s soccer streak goes to five straight with 4-0 win

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men's soccer team posted their fifth straight win in a 4-0 victory over Cumberland University. Union improved to 9-3-4 on the season, while Cumberland dropped to 6-9-1 overall.
 
During the five match winning streak, Union has posted four shutouts and a 2-1 overtime victory.

The match was scoreless until the 39th minute of play. Union scored first on a goal from Diego Santos, assisted by Kemal Gogic and Alex Pratt. Just three minutes later, Union added another goal. This score from Pratt, assisted by Chip Crockarell put Union up 2-0 at the break.
 
In the second half. Union added two more goals, one from Jamie Fox and the final from Guilherme Celli. Santos assisted Fox's goal.
 
Union outshot Cumberland 20-4 in the match, including an even 10-2 tally in both halves. Santos led Union with five shots, while four different Cumberland players each got a shot apiece.
 
Rainer Pires got his fifth shutout of the season and recorded two saves. Ian Hamilton and Sully Shattuck split time in goal for Cumberland, both allowing two goals. Hamilton tallied six saves, to one for Shattuck.
