CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Union University softball team hit the road this weekend for a three game GSC series against Lee University. The Lady Bulldogs lost their three games, pushing their record to 1-8 on the season, and 0-3 in the GSC. Lee improves to 5-2 on the season, and 3-0 in the GSC.
In game one, Lee came out on top 7-2. Union had four players with hits in the game. They were lead by
Alyssa Ward who went 1-2 with a walk and a run.
Nicole Goggin went 1-3 with a run scored.
Sarah Smith lead the team in RBI's, going 1-3 with two RBI's, and
Samantha McDaniel went 1-3.
In game two, Lee won 8-0. Union was lead by
Tori York who went 2-2, and
Alyssa Ward who went 1-3.
In game three, Union fell 9-6. Union was lead by
Grace White who hit a grand slam in the third inning. White went 2-4 with four RBI's and one run scored.
Harley Bartholomew went 3-4 with one run scored and one RBI.
Samantha McDaniel went 3-4 with and RBI and a run scored.
Alyssa Ward went 2-4,
Sarah Smith went 2-4, and
Nicole Goggin went 2-3 scoring one run.
Up next for Union is a home GSC weekend series against the University of Montevallo. That series will begin with a doubleheader on February 27, starting at 3 p.m.
