JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's golf team posted its first championship of the season in theÂ
Don Morris Invitational. The two round event, hosted by Union, was played at the Jackson Country Club and featured five teams with 25 golfers.Â

Ryan Chandler said, "I am proud of where this program is heading. The hard work is paying off for these players." This win for the Union women marked the first career victory for Coach Chandler as a head coach.Â
Union led after the first round with a score of 319. Union added a 325 in the final round to hold on to the tournament with with a team score of 644. Shorter was second, and after shooting a final round best 324, closed to withing three of Union with a team score of 647. Christian Brothers was third, Freed-Hardeman fourth, and Bethel fifth.Â
Union had three players named all-tournament and had four golfers in the top-10.
Nicole Taylor (77, 80-157) finished second behind Shorter's Madison Sanders (76, 79-155). Union's other two all-tournament finishers included
Kallie Robertson (79, 79-158) in third and
Delaney Sain (82, 81-163) in fifth.Â
Alyssa Barnett finished T7 (81, 85-166) while
Emma Korte finished T13 (88, 88-176).Â
This was the final event of the fall for Union. Up next will be the Spring Hill College Invitational, February 17-18, 2020.Â
