EL DORADO, Ark. - The Union University women's golf team posted a third place finish at the Arkansas Collegiate hosted by Southern Arkansas University. The two-round event featured 12 teams and 63 players and was played at the Mystic Creek Golf Club.
Camille Burnette finished runner-up at +4, just three shots behind the medalist. She shot 77, 71 in the even. Her 71 in Tuesday's round matched the best round of the entire event.
Brooklyn Verdugo finished third with scores of 72 and 80 at +8.
Union finished +41 for the event. Union was in first place after the first round with a +17, but dropped after a +24 in the second round. Henderson State won the event at +33, while Weatherford, ranked No. 7 nationally, finished second at +40.
Macy Bromley finished 20th (+14),
Olivia Carroll 25th (+17), and
Grace Roper 32nd (+22).
Up next for Union will be the Greenwood Women's Invitational march 23-24 in Greenwood, S.C.
