MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Union University women's basketball team rallied to post a 69-62 win at Barry University in the South Region Crossover Classic. Union, ranked No. 4/2 in the national polls, rallied in the second half to win the season opener for both teams. 

Both teams came out scoring basket for basket early in the game with Barry leading 20-19 after the first quarter. The second quarter was much slower as Union managed just 10 points. Barry added 15 points to extend its lead to 35-29 at the half. 

Barry opened the second half with seven straight points to lead 43-29. But Union got it going, outscoring Barry 16-4 over the remainder of the quarter. Barry's lead had slipped to 46-45. 

Union exploded in the fourth quarter with 24 points to overtake the home Buccaneers and seal the win. Union outscored Barry 24-14 in the final quarter. 

Jada Perkins scored all 14 of her points in the second half for Union. 

Union was led by Morgan Martin with 21 points. Perkins and Jada Smith added 14 points each. Tiffany Rechis and Perkins both hit two 3-pointers each to lead the Lady Bulldogs.  Union shot 43 percent from the field, 32 percent (6-19) from 3-point range, and 69 percent (11-16) from the free throw line. Union out rebounded Barry  39-33, and forced 20 Barry turnovers, while giving up the ball 14 times. 

Barry's Tampa led all scorers's in the game with 21 points. Andersson added 10 points. The Bucs shot 41 percent from 
the field, 28 percent (8-29) from long range, and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line.
