Before Union
Beard prepped at Dickson County High School where she played four years of basketball and two years of soccer. She helped lead her team to two district titles, two region titles and two sub-state wins. She took her team to three state tournaments including a semifinal appearance as a senior. Beard was named all-district three times, MVP three times and was named all-region three times. She was named MVP of the region as a senior, all-state and all-state tournament as a senior as well. Beard was named to the Tennessee All-Star team and mid-state team. She scored over 2,001 career points and hit 276 career three pointers. Beard ranks ninth in the TSSAA record book with 276 3-pointers. Off the court, Beard posted perfect attendance in her final nine years of school and is a Tennessee Scholar.
