HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Union University women's golf team posted a fifth place finish at the William Carey Collegiate Fall Classic. This event was made of of 10 teams and 53 golfers and was played at the CaneBrake Country Club. 

Union shot a two round total of 636 (319, 317). Dalton State won the event with a 589 (297, 292). William Carey finished second, Lindsey Wilson third, and Loyola-New Orleans fourth. Union finished ahead of Mobile in sixth, Martin Methodist in seventh, Spring Hill eighth, with Millsaps and Rend Lake CC tied for ninth. 

Union's top finisher was newcomer McKenna Montgomery in a tie for 10th. She fired a two round 153 (77, 76). Julie Baker of Southern Miss. (individual qualifier) won the event with a 139 (74, 65). Other Union finishers included. Ashley McCormick finished T15 with a 155 (79, 76), Alyssa Burnett finished T27 with a 163 (79, 84), Delaney Sain finished T30 with a 165 (84, 81), Meghan Poulan finished 42nd with a 179 (89, 90). 

Up next for Union will be their home tournament, the Army National Guard Invitational, October 16-17, at the Jackson Country Club.
