CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Lady Bulldog softball team fell 9-1 in the rubber game against the University of West Georgia Wolves. Union dropped to 2-10 on the season with a GSC record of 1-2. West Georgia improved to 2-1 in league play with an overall record of 8-1.
The Lady Bulldogs one run came in the top of the second inning.
Hailey Cummings got a bases loaded walk to score
Haley Barnette who reached on a walk earlier in the inning. Union received eight walks in the game, but left 11 runners on base.
Paige Taylor (2-6) got the start and loss for the Lady Bulldogs going just 0.1 innings giving up six hits and four runs. Union was led by
Rachel Ridolfi, getting the lone hit for the Lady Bulldogs. The Wolves' Katie Shultes got the one-hitter going five innings with eight strikeouts and eight walks. Offensively, four players for UWG got two hits each, but Jordan Corbin led the Wolves with five RBIs.
Union will have their home opener Wednesday, February 17 at 2pm and 4pm against Maryville (Mo.) University.
