JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University baseball dropped two in the rain on Sunday to North Alabama, 9-0 and 5-0, including an almost three hour rain delay between games. Union's record fell to 4-22 on the season and 2-16 in Gulf South Conference play while North Alabama improved to 19-5 and 10-4 in conference.

Game 1 (UNA 9-0)
North Alabama took an early lead in the top of the first inning when Dylan Calhoun scored on a Union error to take an early 1-0 lead. They extended the lead in third inning when Dylan Boston scored on the single from Kyle Crabtree. The Lions added four more runs over the next five innings to make the score 6-0 heading into the final inning of play. In the top of the ninth, North Alabama put the game away scoring four runs on three hits to set the final at 9-0.

Teddy Christie started the game on the mound for the Bulldogs and went 5.0 innings giving up three earned runs on six hits and four walks to earn the loss. Freshman
Jordan Luzod came on in relief in the sixth inning and finished out the game with 4.0 innings pitched.
Trae Bain led Union at the plate going 2-for-3 with two singles.

Game 2 (UNA 5-0)
North Alabama kept their bats hot over an almost three hour rain delay following the first game by jumping out a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The second batter of the game, Brett Guzay, had an infield single then came around to score on another single off of the bat of Kyle Hubbuch.

The Lions broke the game open in the top of the fourth inning with four runs on singles from Jake Smith, Crabtree, Taylor Hayes and Heath Wood. Two Union errors helped the North Alabama cause in the fourth and set the eventual final at 5-0.

Freshman pitcher
Skyler Harrison tossed a complete game for Union going 7.0 innings giving up only two earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Brady Cook and
Jim Martin were the only Bulldogs to record a hit in the game, both singles.

Todd Gibson started on the hill for the Lions and also went a complete game with 7.0 innings pitched allowing no runs with two Union hits and struck out the last four hitters of the game for a total of nine on the night. Wood finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI while Hubbuch also went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the game.

Union takes on Division I Tennessee-Martin at home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
