JOPLIN, Mo. - The Union University women's cross country team posted a 32nd place finish at the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championships. This was the second straight season for Union to race in the DII nationals.Â
Union advanced to the nationals after finishing third in the NCAA DII South Region meet for a second straight season. The top three teams in the region advance to nationals.
Union finished 32nd in the 6K event for the second straight season. Adams State won the event. The other two teams from the South Region included Tampa (24th) and St. Leo (27th).Â
Abby Berends was Union's top runner in 187th place with a time of 23:06. Alexis Zeis of the University of Mary won the event with a time of 20:03.Â
Janey Berends finished 210th (23:31), Amy McKelvey finished 220th (23:56), Lindsey Jakeman finished 221st (23:57), BethAnne Davis finished 230th (24:07), Sarah Fickley finished 232nd (24:08) and Julia Berends finished 241st (24:36).Â
