Biography

2012... started five races. 2013... started four races... D2ADA Academic Achievement Award... GSC Academic Honor Roll. 2014... started six races... best finish 11th...GSC Academic Honor Roll. 2015... started seven races.

Before Union
Berends prepped at Hudsonville (Mich.) High School where she ran cross country for three seasons. She helped her team claim two region titles (2010 and 2011) and a conference title (2011). Her team also claimed the Academic All-State First Place trophy as a team in 2011. Berends was named Most Improved in 2010 and 2011. Off the field, Berends was a National Merit Finalist and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her two younger sisters are also runners on the Union cross country team.
