Union's Aguayo posts program's highest women's cross country national finish in NCAA era

KENOSHA, Wis. - Union University's Addi Aguayo posted a 112th place finish of 262 runners in the 2025 NCAA D2 Women's Cross Country National Championship. She qualified for the nationals after posting a third place finish at the south region meet. 

Aguayo's 112th place finish marked the highest finish by a Union women's runner in NCAA D2 National Championship history. Union's team advanced to the nationals three times in program history (2014, 2015, 2018) and then this year's individual qualifier. The previous program high was a 158th place finish by Audrey Hazlehurst in 2014. 

The 21:58 time for Aguayo in the NCAA Nationals was the fifth best 6K time in Union program history. In fact, Aguayo holds four of the top-5 6K times in the record book, including each of the top-3. 

The 2025 season for Aguayo proved to be the best individual season for a women's runner in program history. She ran in seven races, including this NCAA D2 Nationals. She posted one first place finish in the Watson Cross Country Classic hosted by Mississippi College. She recorded four second place finished including the Gulf South Conference Championship. And this finish third in the NCAA D2 South Region Championship. This season, she produced three top-10 5K times in program history including the second best ever 5K time at Union. Aguayo also set four of the program's best 6K times, including the top-3.
