CLINTON, Miss. – The Union University women's basketball defeated Mississippi College on the road Saturday afternoon 76-64. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 13-3 overall on the season and 11-3 in the Gulf South Conference. Mississippi Colo. Falls to 4-13 overall on this year's campaign, and 3-11 in league play.
The win marked career win number 699 for head coach
Mark Campbell. He is on pace to become the fastest coach to 700 wins in college basketball history, all levels, all divisions, men or women.
The first quarter was fast paced basketball. With three different lead changes, the largest lead by either team was four. At the end of the first half Union trailed by three. The Choctaws outshot Union in the first quarter 77 percent from the field to 62 percent. They were also 1-1 from beyond the arc.
The lady bulldogs found their way back into the game in the second quarter tying the game up three minutes before halftime. They went into the locker room with a six-point lead.
Union controlled the second half, never losing their lead. They went on to win 76-64. Both teams were pretty even with Union shooting 53 percent from the field, and Mississippi Colo. Shooting 52. The difference was Union's second offensive rebounding. Union had 11 second chance points.

Bethany Dillard, She had 18 points going 6-7 from the field and 6-7 from beyond the arc. Mississippi Colo. was led by Ivy Kelly, she had 13 points going 6-12 from the field and 1-1 from beyond the arc.
