BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Union University women's golf team posted a seventh-place finish in the Drury University Panther Invitational. The two-round event took place at Silo Ridge Country Club and featured 15 teams and 88 golfers.Â
Brooklyn Verdugo led Union with a T16 finish, shooting 83 and 73 for a total of 156 (+12). Illinois-Springfield's Heather McLean won the event by one shot with a 149 (77, 72).Â
Union was in 11th place after a first round 325 but climbed four spots to seventh after a final round of 317. Union's 642 was good for a three-way tie for seventh. Gulf South Conference foe Christian Brothers won the event with a 610 (308, 302). Illinois-Springfield was second, Dury third, Missouri Southern State fourth, Winona State fifth, and McKendree sixth. Union was tied with Maryville and William Jewel. Union finished ahead of Quincy, Evangel, Truman State, Mount Mercy, Rockhurst, and Northwestern Oklahoma State.Â
