JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's golf team posted a 16th-place finish at the NCAA D2 South Region Preview. The 3-round event was hosted by Lee University and was played at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tennessee. The event featured 16 teams with 93 golfers. 

Union finished 84-over par, shooting 318 in Monday's first and second rounds. Union improved with a 312 in the final round Tuesday. 

Brooklyn Verdugo led Union in 30th place at 13-over par, climbing six spots in the final round. She posted seven birdies. Maddie Gray finished 50th (+18), Macy Bromley finished 69th (+23), Abigail Fernandez finished 85th (+34), and Aubrey Payne finished 86th (+35). 

Up next for Union will be the Lady Bulldog Desert Classic at Avondale in Palm Desert, California at the Avondale Golf Club, September 28-29. Union is hosting this event in the home state of senior golfer Brooklyn Verdugo.
