GSC Tourney
MOBILE, Ala. - The Union University men's golf team posted a seventh place finish at the 2022 Gulf South Conference Golf Championships. The 3-round event was played at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail/Magnolia Course and featured 10 teams and 50 golfers.
JJ Zimmer for Union posted a T8 finish with a 216 (70, 71, 75). Midway through the second round, the freshman was tied for first. Elias Haavisto of West Florida won the event with a 207, including a tournament low score of 64 in the second round. It was the seventh top 10 finish of the year for Zimmer, including his sixth straight.
Union's team finished T7 with an 898 (303, 299, 296) tied with Delta State. Lee won the event with an 845, winning by 17 strokes over second place West Florida. West Georgia finished third, Christian Brothers fourth, Shorter fifth, Valdosta State sixth, Mississippi College ninth, and Montevallo tenth.
