HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Union University men's golf team is in a tie for first place with host Henderson State University after two rounds in the Battle for the Belt. The third and final round is set to begin Tuesday morning.Â
The Battle for the Belt is being played at the Hot Springs Country Club and features 13 teams with 71 golfers.Â
The last time Union played in this even was October of 2022 when Union finished third.Â
Union's
Andrew Westmoreland sits in first place at 7-under par after two rounds. He leads two players in second place by one stroke. He shot 3-under in round one and 4-under in round two. He fired 10 birdies on the day with six coming in the second round.
Trace Robinson is in seventh place (-2),
Lane Carr 24th (+3),
Jackson Hughey 44th (+7), and
Matthew Westmoreland 51st (+9). Carr eagled the par-4 16 hole in round two.
