MEN'S GOLF is playing at the Matt Dyas Invitational hosted by the University of West Georgia Monday at Tuesday at the Oak Mountain Golf Club. This will be the last fall event for Union as the Converse Tournament in South Carolina later in the month has been canceled. In Union's three previous tournaments this fall, the Bulldogs have posted two third place finishes and a fourth place finish.
VOLLEYBALL has just two weeks left in the regular season, five total matches. The next three are at home, all coming this week. Union plays Christian Brothers Tuesday at 6 p.m. Union defeated Christian Brothers 3-0 earlier this year. Union will then play West Georgia Friday at 7 p.m. and close out the 5-match home stand Saturday versus Valdosta State at 2 p.m.
Senior setter Jordan Vick passed yet another career milestone this past weekend in the win over AUM. She recorded her 100th career ace. She has now passed 3,000 career assists, 100 career aces, and is approaching 1,000 career digs.
Union is currently tied for second place with Mississippi College with two GSC losses. The two teams are just one game back of West Florida with one GSC loss. Union closes out the regular season on the road next week at Shorter and Lee.
The top eight teams advance to the GSC tournament. The 1 and 2 seeds get a double bye while the 3 and 4 seeds get a first round bye. The 5-seed will host the 8-seed and the 6-seed will host the 7-seed in the first round. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will all be played at the No. 1 home court.
Union volleyball can clinch a berth in the GSC Tournament with a win tonight. This would be the fourth straight GSC Tournament appearance for Union. Union was a 4-seed in 2019 and a 3-seed in 2020 and 2021.
Union plays its final two regular season home matches Friday and Saturday, versus West Georgia and Valdosta State. Union will then travel to Shorter and Lee for the final regular season matches of the year, November 4 and 5.
