Early on in the game it was a back and forth affair with both teams trading baskets. This trend would continue as the game would come to a tie at the 12:05 minute mark at 17-17. From there, Union would click on all cylinders and grow the lead to its greatest margin of 20 at 47-27 with only 1:43 left thanks to a three pointer from Union freshman Ousmane Gueye. The first half would conclude at a score of 47-33.

In the second half, things would only get better for Union, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Tyree Boykin would start the second half with a three pointer, and Union would carry on from there. Union would push the game to its largest lead of 34 with a layup by Bryson Butler with only 38 seconds remaining. It would be the last basket of the game for either team and the final score would end at 92-58.
