Before Union
Stovall transferred to Union from the University of North Alabama where he red-shirted as a freshman. Stovall prepped at Winfield City High School where he played four years of basketball and one year of baseball. He also played for the Adidas Gauntlet and BBA Kings club teams. Stovall helped his high school team to three Marion County titles, three WAC titles, and two sub-region titles. Stovall was named all-state twice, all-area MVP twice, all-area three times, all-county MVP twice, all-country three times, and all-region. He was also selected as a senior to play in the Alabama North/South All-Star Game and the Alabama/Georgia All-Star Game. Stovall averaged 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game as a senior.
