CALERA, Ala. - The Union University women's golf team posted a sixth place finish in the fall opener at the Full Moon Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo at the Timberline Golf Club. The event featured eight teams and 43 individuals.Â
Union fired a first round 304, just one shot behind the school record women's round of 303 back in 2015-16. Union was in third place after the first round. However, a round of 324 dropped the team to sixth place finish and a two-round total of 628. Montevallo won the event with a 300, 295-595 score. West Florida was second, North Georgia third, West Georgia fourth, Shorter fifth, Spring Hill seventh, and Christian Brothers eighth.Â
Union was led by
Alyssa Burnett with a T9 finish (75, 78-153). Montevallo's Alexis Berger won the event with a 75, 69-144.
Other Union finishers included
Delaney Sain in T13 with a 72, 83-155. Sain was in third place after her first round 72.
Nicole Taylor finished T19 (76, 82-158),
Kallie Robertson finished T29 (81, 81-162), and
Mikaela Kossina finished 43rd (97, 99-196).Â
Up next for Union will be the William Carey Invitational, September 23-24.Â
