Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Union University baseball team was defeated by Henderson State University, 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon. Union dropped to 6-7 overall, and Henderson State improved to 4-10 overall.
In the first inning, Nolen Milton homered to right center for the Bulldogs. In the sixth inning, Hayden Lewis scored on a single by Tyler Thomas, and the Reddies scored their first run of the game. In the bottom of the eighth, Henderson State tied the game at 2-2. In the top of the ninth, Lewis scored off a single by Charlie Ellis, but the Reddies scored two in the bottom of the ninth to win the game, 4-3.
Luis Larrinaga took the loss for the Bulldogs, tossing .1 innings allowing four hits. Scott Shearer tossed five innings allowing four hits with two strikeouts and zero walks. Kory Pollard tossed two innings allowing zero hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Cooper Bullough tossed one inning, allowing two hits with one strikeout.
Lewis and Thomas led the Bulldogs with two hits each.
Next up for Union is Gulf South Conference series at Valdosta State on March 2-3.
