CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Union University volleyball team dropped a pair of weekend conference matches at Shorter University Friday, and Lee University Saturday. Shorter swept Union 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-15), while Lee topped Union 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-21) Saturday. Union dropped to 4-15 overall and 1-6 in the Gulf South Conference. Shorter is now 4-8 overall and 1-4 in league play, while Lee is 8-9 overall and 6-1 in league play.
At Shorter,
Meghan Delaney,
Delaney Peterson, and
Christa Karns led with four kills each.
Kristen Bukowsky and
Christa Karns led with two blocks.
Rebecca Sexton led with 12 assists and
Abbie Rahn led with 13 digs.Â
In the match at Lee, Union was led by freshman
Haley Ramsey with 11 kills, while Delaney and Karns added eight and six kills respectively. Delaney and Cortney Ondrus added one ace each, while
Grace Roberts and Ramsey led with two blocks each. Sexton led with 27 assists, while Rahn led with 14 digs and Delaney added 10 digs.Â
Up nxt for Union will be another pair of GSC road matches. Union goes to West Georgia Friday night and then Valdosta State Saturday afternoon.Â
