MOBILE, Ala. – The Union University women's soccer team was defeated by Spring Hill College 2-0. The Bulldogs dropped to 0-4 on the season and 0-2 in Gulf South Conference play. The Badgers improved to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Union's
Madison Studstill put pressure on the Badger's defense early in the first half with shots from outside the box, but Spring Hill's Olivia Durrough scored a goal off a cross from Sidney Spivey in the seventeenth minute to make the score 1-0.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to press forward recorded five shots for the first half led by Studstill with three shots on goal.
At the end of the first half the score was 1-0.
Both teams fought evenly late into the second half. Spring Hill's Johanna Meister scored the final goal of the game with a shot from ten yards outside the box.
Union was led by
Anna Barkey and Studstill with three shots a piece. The Lady Bulldogs were out shot 14-12.
Karleigh Belnap and
Anna Venckus were both in goal for Union, collecting one save each.
