JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University softball team fell in a double-header to Gulf South Conference foe, University of West Florida. The Argonauts took the first game 8-2 and the second game 8-5.

GAME ONE
WHAT HAPPENED
- The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when West Florida's Rachel Wright hit a three run blast to right center. West Florida tallied two more runs in the fifth inning on a 2-RBI double to left center.
- Union pushed across a run in the bottom half of the fifth on a sacrifice bunt by LaDesha Nelson that scored Emily Bennett all the way from second.
- West Florida led 5-1 in the sixth, and tacked on two more runs to take a 7-1 lead. Union scored in the bottom half of the inning as Ashley Scott scored on an error by the Argonaut's third baseman.
- UWF put up another run on a solo homer to leftfield in the seventh to set the final, 8-2.

POSTGAME STATS
- Paige Robertson led Union going 2-for-3 at the plate. Hannah Ridolfi (12-8) took the loss going seven innings, giving up eight runs on six hits.
- West Florida was led by Rachel Wright going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Becca Taylor (16-5) earned the win, going six innings giving up two runs, one earned, on six hits.

GAME TWO
WHAT HAPPENED
- Union jumped on the board in the bottom of the first as Robertson hit a sacrifice fly to leftfield to score Scott.
- West Florida would take a 2-1 lead in the second as a homerun to left got them on the board and a single put them ahead. The Lady Bulldogs responded in the bottom half as Bennett scored on Nelson's single through the left side to tie the game, 2-2.
- The game would remain tied until the top of the fourth when UWF put up a four spot to take a 6-2 lead. Gabby Morris would bring Union within a run, 6-5, of the Argonauts in the bottom of the fourth on a three run blast to leftfield.
- West Florida scored two unanswered runs in the sixth inning to take the double-header sweep, 8-5.

POSTGAME STATS
- Haley Barnette was the only Lady Bulldog to get multiple hits in the game, 2-for-3. Gabby Morris led with three RBIs while going 1-for-2 with two walks.
- Gabby Morris (5-8) took the loss in relief, going 2.1 innings. Parker Davis started the game but went just one inning. Hannah Ridolfi relieved Morris, going the final 3.2 innings. Only five of the Argonauts eight runs were earned.
- Three West Florida batters had two hits each in the game. Rhiannon Sassman led the way, picking up two RBIs and two runs scored while going 2-for-5. Taylor Rolison (4-1) got the win in relief, going 5.2 innings giving up three runs on four hits.
