BOTETOURT, Va. – The Union University softball team played in their second game of the day in the NCCAA Nationals and their third game of the tournament Friday afternoon. Sixth seeded Union beat the number four seed Judson University (Ill.) 2-0 to improve to 27-20 on the season and 3-0 in the tournament.

Summer Cross to go up 2-0. Solid pitching and defense from Union held Judson to just five hits.
Brooke Thomas (11-10) earned the win while recording nine strikeouts and no walks.
The Lady Bulldog's pitching staff has been the key to Union's success in the NCCAA National Tournament while posting two shutouts in three games. Sophomore

Brooke Thomas have split time in the circle and have combined for 28 strikeouts in 27 innings of work. The pitching duo has only given up 17 hits and one earned throughout the entire tournament.
Union advances to the championship game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The Lady Bulldogs will face the winner of Judson and Shorter that will be played Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.. Union has to win one game to win the NCCAA National Title.
