BOTETOURT, Va. – The Lady Bulldogs played their second game of the NCCAA National Tournament against the number 2 seed Mustangs of Central Baptist (Ark.). Union topped Central Baptist 2-1 to improve to 26-20 on the season while Central Baptist fell to 35-11.
Another pitching duel set the scene for Union's second game of the tournament.
Kelly Robey was in the circle again for Union in her second start of the tournament while Jessica Sheldon got the start for Central Baptist. Union's offense was quiet through three complete innings until they scored the first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. An RBI single from

Tobie Joy and extend their lead to 2-0. Central Baptist threatened in the top of the seventh with one run on one hit but another outstanding pitching performance from
Kelly Robey held off Central Baptist to make the final score 2-1. Robey (14-9) recorded twelve strikeouts and one walk while only allowing three hits and one earned run.
Union advances to the championship bracket to face the number 4 seed Judson University (Ill.).
