Union battled throughout a three-game Gulf South Conference road series at West Florida, showing resilience inning-to-inning despite the final results.
The Bulldogs opened the series in a tight, low-scoring contest behind a strong outing from Riley Vaughn, who allowed just two runs (one earned) across six innings. Union's defense and pitching kept things within reach, but the offense was limited to one hit in a 2-0 setback.
In game two, Union generated more offensive momentum, tallying six hits with Courtney Marler leading the way with a multi-hit performance. The Bulldogs stayed within striking distance before a five-run fifth inning created separation. Union continued to compete late, breaking through in the seventh as Sydney Scott drove in a run.
The series finale saw Union threaten early, loading the bases in the second inning, and again show fight at the plate with hits from Rylee Moore, Chloe Jones, and Sydney Scott. After a challenging start, the pitching staff settled in and held West Florida scoreless over the final three innings, continuing to compete through the final out.
Across the series, Union's pitching staff delivered key performances and the lineup continued to create opportunities, particularly late in games. The Bulldogs' persistence and competitiveness remained evident throughout the weekend as they continue with a midweek double header against Miles (3/25).
