JACKSON, Tenn. — Union split its weekend Gulf South Conference series with Trevecca Nazarene at Fesmire Field, dropping the opener Friday before responding with back-to-back wins Saturday to secure the series.
Trevecca Nazarene claimed the first game Friday afternoon, 4-3, in eight innings despite a strong effort from Union in the circle and a late offensive push.
Union finished with seven hits in the opener, led by Courtney Marler, who recorded two hits and drove in one run. Camryn Langley, Chloe Jones, and Ella Joy Bragan each added a hit, while Rylee Moore scored once and drew two walks.
Trevecca broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the eighth inning after Union scored twice in the sixth to even the game. Moore pitched all eight innings, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out five.
Union answered in game two Saturday with a 3-0 shutout victory behind a complete-game performance from Riley Vaughn.
Vaughn worked all seven innings, allowing six hits while striking out eight and holding Trevecca scoreless.
At the plate, Union totaled five hits. Marler led the offense again, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Chloe Jones added an RBI double, while Sydney Scott collected a double and drove in a run. Union scored in the first inning, added another in the fifth, and pushed across an insurance run in the sixth.
The Lady Bulldogs secured the series finale with another 3-0 win later Saturday.

Union's pair of shutout wins on Saturday helped the Lady Bulldogs secure the weekend series and build momentum heading into their next conference matchup against University of West Florida.
