The series opened Friday night with Mississippi College claiming a 5-0 decision.
Despite five hits from the Lady Bulldogs, including a 2-for-2 effort from Camryn Langley, Union was unable to push a run across. Emily Claire Felder provided 4.2 innings of relief in the circle, limiting further damage and keeping Union within striking distance.
Game two on Saturday proved to be a pitcher's duel, with Rylee Vaughn delivering a complete-game effort, allowing just two hits over six innings.
Sydney Scott led the offense with two of Union's three hits, but a lone fifth-inning run by the Choctaws was the difference in a tight 1-0 contest.
Facing a series sweep in the finale, the Lady Bulldogs responded.
Union struck first with a two-run second inning capitalizing on a Mississippi College error and a Cassidy Goddard RBI single.
After the Choctaws answered with a three-run fourth to take a 4-2 lead, Union stayed composed.
In the seventh inning, the Lady Bulldogs delivered their biggest offensive surge of the weekend. Langley sparked the rally with a leadoff single before Goddard and Skai Albury each drove in runs to tie the game. Riley Moore followed with an RBI single, and Courtney Marler added another clutch hit to give Union a 5-4 advantage.
Vaughn, who entered in relief, shut the door in the bottom half to secure the win and earn the victory in the circle.
Union totaled nine hits in the finale, with Bella Lopez and Goddard each collecting two, showcasing the balanced offensive attack that powered the comeback.
The Lady Bulldogs leave Clinton with momentum after a gritty finish, demonstrating poise, timely hitting, and the ability to respond under pressure in conference play.
