Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Last non-conference matchup against Panthers ends in a 1-1 draw, Bulldogs begin prep for GSC play

JACKSON, Tenn- Union Bulldogs wrapped up non conference play with a road trip to Kentucky Wesleyan for an afternoon match against the Panthers.

From a bird's eye view, this was the tale of two halves. The first half showcased a Bulldog heavy attack, putting up 5 shots on goal to the Panther's 0. The half ended scoreless on both sides.

The second half is where things were shaken up. At the 52nd and 56th minute, two Panthers, Braeden Myers-Curry and Cal Nolan were booked for yellow cards. 10 minutes later, Ivan Juarez would receive a red card, leaving the Panthers with a man down. Not a minute later, Union Assistant Coach would also find himself with a yellow card.

Union would respond with a goal in the 70th minute by freshman Jaiden Kaunda. Kaunda found the lower right corner, finally putting Union on the scoreboard.

The freshman from South Africa lit a fire under the Bulldogs squad, who would follow up with two shots on goal by Ashanie Kennedy and Luca Pereira within minutes of each other.

However, the Panthers were able to respond in the 80th minute with a goal from Braeden Myers-Curry. The lone shot on goal was just enough to give them the equalizer.

With non conference play in the rear view, the Bulldogs will look to turn solid performances into results as they chase a strong start in GSC action.

Conference will begin with a road trip down Interstate 40 to Christian Brother University on September 21.
