JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University Women's Volleyball faced off against the Lady Flames of Lee University tonight as the kickoff to athletic homecoming schedule.
Following the match, Union's record sits at 4-15 (2-10 GSC) and Lee's rises to 11-10 (7-5 GSC).
Lady Bulldogs opened the match strong with a kill from
Parker Goff. They carried this momentum throughout the first set, taking it home at a score of 25-21. Goff,
Natalie Supine and
Elizabeth Gilbert, current GSC Freshman of the Week, controlled this set and led the blitz in earning the point.
The remaining three sets, however, told a different story. Lee took control and stunned the Lady Bulldogs, taking set two at 25-11.
Set three and four also fell in the Lady Flames hands, ending at 25-18 and 25-20 respectively.
Offensive game leaders include Gilbert, Goff, and Supine, topping Union squad in kills.
Kylie Creech and
Sydney Davis led in assists at 18 and 10.
Defensively, Supine had the most blocks (2) followed be Goff and Davis at one a piece.
The Lady Bulldogs take the road south to face off against Valdosta (10/24) and nationally ranked West Florida (10/25).
