SEARCY, Ark. – The Union University baseball team fell to Harding University on the road in a single non-conference game Tuesday night. The final score after seven innings was 14-4. Union falls to 7-12 overall as Harding improved to 14-6.
Harding came out swinging scoring in six of the seven innings played. Union scored their only four runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Union scored a single run in the sixth after a solo homerun by
Grant Ross. They scored their first run in the seventh as
Matthew Sureda scored on a balk by the pitcher. Union batted around in the seventh scoring two more as Sureda and
Will Allen Smith scored on a single by
Patrick Maxwell.
Ryan Middleton started on the mound for Union throwing one inning giving up three runs on three hits earning two strikeouts. Five other Bulldogs threw in relief.
Up next for Union is a three-game series at home against the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery. The first game of the series is set to take place Friday, March 10 at 6 p.m.
