RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Union University baseball team lost 12-2 at the University of Arkansas Tech University Tuesday evening. Union dropped to 7-8 on the season, while Arkansas Tech improved to 11-5 overall.
Union got down early, giving up eight runs in the first two innings. The scored stayed at 8-0 until Union got a pair of runs in the fifth.
Caden Cutrell and
Grant Ross added RBI singles. Union managed 10 hits in the game, but committed four errors. Arkansas Tech had 16 hits with two errors. Arkansas Tech added three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to end the game with the run rule.
Ross and
Colby Davis led Union with 2-for-3 days at the plate.
Mitch Sisk (0-3) started and took the loss.
Dylan Thomas tossed one-third of an inning and
Eli Snelson tossed three innings, both allowing no runs.
Ryan Middleton and Billy Beckham tossed two-thirds of an inning apiece in relief.
Up next for Union will be a road series at West Georgia. The updated schedule included a doubleheader Saturday at noon central and a single game Sunday at noon central.
