SHAWNEE, Okla. - The Union University volleyball team won a tight second game of the day versus the University of Texas at Tyler, 3-1 (25-22, 13-25, 29-27, 25-21) to salvage a spilt in the opening day of theÂ
Oklahoma Baptist University Classic. Union lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-16) to Texas A&M University-Kingsville in the first game of the day. Union improved to 5-2 on the season.Â
In the first game, Union was led by
Alyssa Tatsch and
Emily Grace Calhoon with six kills each,
Karlie Davis with two aces,
Jordan Vick with 19 assists, and
Sydney Sample with 18 digs.
Sidney Hegg, Tatsch, and Calhoon each had one block.Â
In the win over Texas-Tyler, Tatch again paced the Bulldogs with 12 kills,
Bailey Hughes led with three aces,
Mikiah Perdue led with four blocks, Vick had 30 assists, and Sample added 22 digs.Â
Union will play twice on Saturday in the final day of the classic versus St. Edwards at 12:30 p.m. and host Oklahoma Baptist at 4:30 p.m.
