SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Union University volleyball team went 0-2 in the last day of the Oklahoma Baptist University Classic. They lost the first match to St. Edwards, 0-3 (15-25, 22-25, 18-25). The Lady Bulldogs lost to the host team Oklahoma Baptist to end the day 0-3 (28-30, 26-28, 17-25). Union falls to 5-4 on the season.
In the first game, Union was led by
Reese Owens with eight kills,
Alyssa Tatsch and
Natalie Supine with one ace,
Jordan Vick with 27 assists, and
Sydney Sample with 11 digs, and
Mikiah Perdue with one block.
In the loss over Oklahoma Baptist Owens led the team in kills once again with 11. Sample led the team in both aces with two and digs with 13. Vick led with 28 assists and
Emily Grace Calhoon led with three blocks.
Up next for Union is a tournament at home as they will host the second Union Volleyball Classic of the year. Union's first match is set to take place September 9 at 7:00 p.m. as they take on West Virginia State University.
