Clinton, Miss. – The Union University baseball team split with Mississippi College the second day of the series Saturday afternoon. Union lost the first game 10-4 and won the second game 11-5. Union moved to 19-23 overall on the year and 12-14 in the Gulf South Conference. Mississippi College moved to 14-34 overall and 8-22 in league play.
In the first game, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead as they scored three runs in the first inning. The Choctaws picked up a run in the fourth after a solo homerun.
Josh Bozoian homered to left center in the fifth putting Union up 4-1, but Mississippi answered with one of their own in the bottom half. Union gave up eight runs in the seventh resulting in the 4-10 loss.
Union was led by
Carson Chavies who went 2-4 with two RBI. Sam Pointdexter started on the mound for the Bulldogs. He threw six innings earning three strikeouts. He allowed two runs on eight hits and no walks. Ryan Evens,

Ryan Middleton,
Jake Jewell, and
Walker Adkisson all pitched in relief.
In the second game, Union scored 10 runs in the first two innings, scoring one in the first and nine in the second. They would hold the Choctaws to 5 runs coming out on top 11-5. Bozoian,
Patrick Music, and
Blake Barrett all had homeruns in this game.
Union was led by Bozoian,
Dorian Berry, and
Ben Smith. Bozoian went 2-4 with a homerun, double, and three RBI. Berry went 2-4 with one RBI. Smith went 2-4 with a double and two RBI.
Sam McMillin threw a seven inning complete game earning nine strikeouts, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks.
This was Union's last regular season games. Union finished the season two games outside of the cut to make the conference tournament.
